Would you believe GOOGLE news went down??

Google's news administration experienced a blackout on Friday evening, with clients revealing that they couldn't see refreshes.

While the principal web crawler appeared to be unaffected, clients who tapped on the "news" tab found nothing.

Instead, a message showed up on screen, which said: "Oh no! Something went wrong. Please try again."

People hurried to X, previously Twitter, to report being not able to scan the stage for news stories either on its work area page or on its iOS and Android applications.

By 4.20pm, Google News seemed, by all accounts, to be running as would be expected once more.

In a post on X, the web search tool said: “There’s an ongoing issue with serving some features in Google Search. We’ve identified the issue and we’re working on a fix.”

A connected post on Google's Search Status Dashboard showed the tech firm had been managing "disturbance" to parts of its web search tool since 3.36am UK time on May 31.

Outsider reports of Google News not working started to stream in later in the day at around 1pm, as per Down Finder, a site which screens blackouts across the globe.

Reports of the blackout then, at that point, began at around 2.45pm.

It is not clear the number of clients that were affected, yet Down Detector announced blackouts in the UK, the US and different nations, meaning it might have impacted countless individuals.
